Our Native-American and woman-owned law firm specializing in Indian law and tribal representation seeks to add a Legal Assistant to our team. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day assisting in the operations of the law firm, including carrying out administrative services in our 12-attorney office, and for providing support to the legal team. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic and exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.
Examples of Legal Assistant responsibilities:
- Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence
- Correspond with counsel, court, and clients
- Format, proof read, revise, and file legal documents
- Complete administrative duties, including answering and directing phone calls, greeting clients and vendors, and organizing files
- Assist attorneys with firm marketing efforts
- Attend to daily firm operations, including maintaining supplies, IT coordination, and office operations
- Coordinate intra-office meetings, including necessary logistics
- Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
Recommended qualifications and skills:
- Two-year degree or equivalent certification
- 2+ years’ working experience as a legal assistant
- Familiarity with MS Office, Windows 10, Sharefile, Dropbox, and electronic filing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
